Four generations of female entrepreneurs characterise Calabria’s Lento family. The land has over 100 hectares divided among three estates with names that seem straight out of romantic literature.
Cantine Lento’s style has a low environmental impact. There’s no chemical weeding, and all the grapes are harvested by hand. They also implement organic fertilisation to ensure balanced and modulated nutrition in the vineyards.

A forest doesn’t talk, but it has an effect: Lento’s vineyard has a higher level of biodiversity thanks to the olive groves, oak forests, and cork and acacia trees beside the land, which encourage the presence of bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and wasps.
The hands of the men and women who work Lento’s soils have endured both the cold of winter pruning and the sweat from the summer harvest. Each has its own temperament and its own time–every sip of Lento wine embodies Calabria, the former Magna Graecia that’s now the discreet heart of the Mediterranean.
