A day dedicated to the discovery of ancient Calabrian customs with an e-bike ride on the gentle hills that protect the Costa degli Dei and a visit to the caves of Zungri.
From the sunny Santa Domenica, head to the municipality of Drapia, and after crossing tiny busy streets, you reach its village with ancient buildings with beautiful doors and granite balconies. Continuing to Zungri there is a short stop to admire a spectacular overhead view of Tropea. Arrival in Zungri is scheduled for 08.45 am, in the welcoming countryside "in Raisina" where the "Cumari" await you. These women represent a heritage for the conservation and dissemination of peasant culture and ancient traditions. Here you will be personally involved in the processing of hand-made bread dough, in a simple and jovial atmosphere, breathing the ancient scents of the land and learning the historical folk customs; while waiting for the leavening to take its course, you will visit the beach caves, an ancient residential settlement, testimony to the passage of the Basilian monks from the East who resided for over two centuries in the village. Back from the caves, with the "cummari" where you will bake the bread in a cheerful and festive atmosphere, then taste the fruit of our labours accompanied by other typical local products.
After a farewell in the early afternoon to the very kind "cummari" and back on the road, admiring the coast descending from another side of the hill, and return to the resort.
